Yolande Marie Burnett Banks “Yoli” was born on January 2, 1960, in Brooklyn New York to the late parents of Lewis E. Burnett and Lily McDowell Burnett. Yolande spent her last eight years of her life in Cincinnati and Middletown, Ohio where she maintained our family of 7 children and four grandchildren, along with her loving husband, Joseph H. Banks.
She graduated from Barnard University with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and went on to become the best mother and person that she could be. Outside of her professional life, being a mother was above all else. We will miss her in the flesh dearly. With her social grace, we traveled the world, we lived in Nigeria, West Africa for some years then acquired dual citizenship in Israel, where we lived for five years, and then back to America, learning, investigating, and seeking for a place to find rest and a better way of life to prosper for ourselves and our future generations, but we always found our home in her, wherever we were, and even now she lives in us. We will miss her kind touch and soft words.
Yolande is survived by her loving husband, Joseph H. Banks of Middletown, OH; her sister and nearest of kin, Beverly Burnett of NY; her seven children; her (step-daughter) Yahmima Banks of Kannapolis, NC, Mishael Banks of Middletown, OH, Natanel Banks of Middletown, OH, Kalah Banks of Middletown, OH, Tirtza Banks of Middletown, OH, Yachin Banks of Middletown, OH, and Rukamah Banks of Middletown, OH; our four grandchildren; Chace Parker Banks, Yishad Banks, Mason Carter Banks, and Elias Banks; her niece Ruby Roberts of NY and her nephew Bryce Roberts of NY and other loved ones.
She is accomplished by and through the mature love that she shared with us all.
