Mrs. Wanda Louise Gray was born March 10, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio to Toy Green Sr. and Beulah Gooden. She departed this life early morning on October 2, 2023, at the young age of 88, at Ohio Hospice of Dayton.
Wanda attended Dunbar High School, later attending Patterson Co-Op Night School, where she graduated in 1968. Wanda then went on to further her education receiving her B.A. in Business in 1974 from the Dayton Ohio Industrial College. Wanda was a housewife while her children were young but once they all became adults she worked part-time at Estridge Market, before moving on to work full-time at NCR where she retired after 14 years.
Everyone who knew Wanda, knows how much she loved to play BINGO. She was one lucky lady in the bingo halls. She could win a jackpot twice a day and sometimes did just that. She also loved to throw and attend card games and play the Ohio Lottery. Wanda's true love in life was her family and friends. She was a mother to many and a Granny to all of the kids around the neighborhood. You would always hear someone saying Mama Gray or Granny and you already knew she had adopted them as her own. This alone speaks volumes on who she was in her life here on earth.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Gray Sr. (Billy); parents, Toy Green Sr., Beulah and James Gooden; maternal grandparents, Callie and John Stone; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Mary Green; brothers, Toy Green Jr., Donald Green and Robert Raimey; sister, Debra Hill; uncle, Shelby Moppin; aunts Elizebeth Green, Winterfer Stone; daughters, Vickie Gray and Robyn Gray; grandsons, Brandon J.
