Teala J. (Eubanks) Henderson went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2021. She was born March 16, 1946 to Phillip and Virginia Eubanks. Teala was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, godmother, and friend. She was a native Daytonian and a graduate of Dunbar High School class of 1964. Teala Eubanks met Joseph A. Henderson the summer of 1961 and they married October 9, 1965. They raised a beautiful family of 3 children Monica, Rhonda, and Joseph Jr.
Teala retired from the Kroger Company after 41 years of service. After retirement she went back to work full-time playing bingo and frequently visiting the casino. One of her favorite past times was extreme couponing. She never kept the goods to herself, but she would share her goodie bags with everyone she knew and loved.
Teala was the anchor/matriarch of the family. She kept in touch with everyone in her family and almost all of her of friends. Teala had close relationships with all of her grandchildren and each one thought that they were the favorite. There was not a family event that she did not know about and made sure everyone was made aware. She was a confidant to those who needed it and a non-judgmental shoulder to lean on.
Teala was proceeded in death by parents, Phillip and Virginia Eubanks; husband, Joseph A. Henderson; son, Joseph A. Henderson, Jr; brothers, Phillip Sr, Hamilka (Cora), and Victor Eubanks; grandsons, Duane, Jessie T, and Jaylin Chivers and sister-in-law, Sue Crockett.
