Susie Jones
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born I set you a part.
John 3:3 Unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
Susie accepted Christ at an early age in Alabama. She took her salvation seriously and taught her family about Jesus. She made sure they attended church and Sunday school. She served as president of the missionaries at New Hope Baptist Church for many years. She was called on to pray and give the welcome many times.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Susie was very active and supportive in her children’s education both spiritual and academic. Everyone could hear her at the basketball, baseball, and football games. Susie attended Broward School in Alabama and graduated from the 12th grade.
II Thessalonians 3:10 If a man will not work, he shall not eat.
Susie held many “Day Jobs”; The Fogels, The Wagners, and The Herschners as cook and maid while working the Leschener Company and Avon Products at night. She was the first custodian at the New Hope Baptist Church under Rev. John Patton. She also held the job as trustee. Her main job was faithfully serving the Lord, her husband and her children.
Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtain favor of the Lord.
Susie met and married Thomas Jones, Sr. They were wed on May 14, 1938 in Alabama. To this union 14 children was born. They were able to celebrate their 55th wedding renewal.
Genesis 1:28 The Lord said be fruitful and multiply
She leaves to cherish her memories; Thomas Jones, Jr. (Joan), Jesse Jones (Carol), Mary Alice Johnson (Edward), Emma Lou Hubble, Timothy Jones (Barbara), Robert Jones (Pam), Leroy Jones (Rosemary), Gary Jones (Carmen), Anthony Dean (Dorothy), Tony Brent Jones, Stephanie Ann Salone, Deborah Jo Salone (Dwight) Gregory Jones and Eleanor Millings (Larry); one brother, Roosevelt McDade; one sister, Stannie McDade along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Thomas Jones, Sr., Thomas Jones, Jr., Mary Johnson and Betty Jean Jones preceded her in death.
Susie lived to see 6 generations; 14 children, 33 grandchildren, 90 great grandchildren, 71 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.
