Robert Lee Minor, Jr. was born September 30, 1956 to the late Robert Lee Minor, Sr. and Berdia Minor. He departed this earthly life June 23, 2021 to be with the Lord.
He graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School as a JROTC alumni. He was a well-known actor and singer in well-known movies like ‘King Kong’ and performed at the Apollo. He was under a group called ‘Theater West’ under the leadership of the late Clarence Young, Jr.
He went to Wilberforce and transitioned into the United States Army in 1981. Later on in life, he not only married his helpmate & beloved life partner Marcella “Mike” Minor who went to be with Jesus in 2015, but he also became an ordained minister under the United Pentecostal Church in the early 90s. He preached many times in the United States and overseas. The first church he resided over was in Seoul, Korea and he later founded Souls Harbor Apostolic Worship Center in Augusta, Georgia. He preached, ministered and touched so many lives in various other churches & states around the globe, spreading the love of the Lord everywhere he went.
He retired as a Sergeant First Class in 2001. His final endeavor was to establish a Minor hometown church, but he became ill. His home church in Dayton, OH is Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church.
He is survived by his children, Reginald North, LaDeya Ivy, Demetrius (Riesa) and Sarah Minor; his siblings, Charles (Hazel) Minor, Timothy Minor Yolanda (Andre) Phillips, Pamela Minor, Terence Minor & Darryl (Thawanna) Brooks; several beloved grandchildren, Cheyenne North, Dana North, Reginald North Jr, Ann Marie North, Brielle Johnson,, Aniyah Jordan, Amani Ivy, Ahsan Ivy and Lauren Reid; a multitude of uncles, aunts, nieces & nephews.
