Robert “Bobby” Maiden Jr., 79, was born on December 28, 1941 and departed this life on September 30, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Ohio.
Bobby graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1959. Soon after he joined the United States Navy, where he served from 1959-1962. He truly enjoyed his travels during his time in the Navy.
Upon returning home to Dayton, he worked at Frigidaire for a couple of years. Soon he realized his dream of opening his own trucking company with its first location on Negly Place. Maiden Trucking was born in the sixties, and Bobby never looked back. After retiring from trucking, he continued to work at the “garage” repairing cars of countless friends, relatives, and clients. He committed his entire life doing what he loved. Over the years, Bobby’s garage became a gathering place of both business and good times. Everyone knehat he could be found at his garage day or night. Driving down Broadway will never be the same.
Bobby was an all-around friendly guy. He truly never met a stranger. He treated people fairly and was respected by all. He loved his family and his friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by the following family members: mother, Earileen Walton; stepfathers, Archie Walton and Clarence Everett; his father, Robert Maiden Sr.; brothers, Clarence (Mickey) Everett, Richard (Moby) Everett, and Darnell Maiden; and stepson, William Quisenberry.
Bobby is survived by his long-time companion, Cynthia Quisenberry; children, Robert (Judith) Maiden and Tonya Maiden (mother Bonnie Maiden of both); stepson, Tyrone Quisenberry; sisters, Ann Fomby, Terri White, Roberta Maiden, and Sylvia Leftrict; and brother, James Walton. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jahaan, Tariq (Heidi), Asad, Arris, Janee’, Tanesha, Tyrone Jr., Ciara, Michelle La, Brianna as well as great-grandchildren. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and very special friends.
