Rhonda Marie Cockerham

Rhonda Cockerham, 68, was welcomed into her eternal home on Sunday, November 2nd, 2019. Rhonda passed surrounded by her family at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia.

She was born on May 22nd, 1951, in Middletown Ohio; the daughter of the late Rommie and Gladys Ingram. She married Elzie Cockerham on February 14, 1970, who survives today. They enjoyed 50 years of building and sharing life together.
She is also survived by her two sons, Mark (Shelly) Cockerham, and Matthew Cockerham; 5 grandchildren, Brittany (Joshua) Reynolds, Christopher Cockerham, Zackery Cockerham, Matthew (Little Matt) Cockerham, and Kyle (Anna) Reser; 5 great grandchildren, Grayson and Gideon Reynolds, and Jaxon, Easton and Abigail Reser; two sisters, Debbie Mitchell, and Marlene Current; and a host of extended nephews, nieces, cousins, family and close friends.

Rhonda graduated from Middletown Highschool and has a degree from the University of Cincinnati in Social Work. God and people were Rhonda’s passion. Brave, strong, dedicated, loving, compassionate, generous, and faithful are just a few words that describe what an incredible woman Rhonda was. Her faith was deeply rooted in Christ. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” and Strength she received! Rhonda had a passion for people and serving but had a greater heart for children. She focused most of her life on helping kids in need. She worked as a house/foster parent at Midwestern Children’s Home. She fostered children in her own home while raising two of her own boys and she ran her own professional daycare. Rhonda worked at an assisted living for the handicapped facility, and one of her favorite things was Sunday School, where she taught kids the life and love of Jesus Christ.

She will be remembered, loved and cherished. She showed us how to love unconditionally and to be generous servants to those in need! Her love and support had no end and her legacy will live on in the lives of those that were fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed and we await the day that we will meet again!
