Philadelphia "Laura" Sanders Was born August 31, 1955 to Jurlene Sanders and Eddie L. Terrell in Troy, Al. At the age of 3, the family moved to Winter Gardens, Fl. By the age of 11, Laura began receiving national honor awards in her strong point, Mathematics. Soon after, she moved with family to Dayton, Ohio where she attended Dayton Public Schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1973. Soon after graduating, she received an honor awards scholarship to attend the University of Dayton, where she would major in Psychiatry.
Later in life she gave birth to her only child, Michael Appleberry, Sr. in January of 1982. She loved her family.
She became a member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God and remained a member for over 40+ years. She held numerous positions at the church. She was the Sunday school secretary, under the direction of Elder Robert Lewis, she was on the missionaries committee, benevolence committee, prayer warrior and shortly held the office of president of the singles committee. She was a FAITHFUL member, that not only loved the church, the members, but also loved her pastor, Bishop Eugene Ringer, DEARLY.
Throughout life, Laura suffered though many disabilities and health issues, but still managed to receive a degree from Sinclair Community College for Medical Assistant. She held an administrative position at an office located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father but left behind to cherish her memory; 3 sisters, Sharon Sanders, Joanne Nelson, Arlene "Marie" Bryant; her son, Michael Appleberry, Sr.; 4 grandchildren, Michael Appleberry, Jr., Elijah Appleberry, Shylynn Appleberry and Dallas Love along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
