Patricia Ann Smith-Smith was born in Mobile, AL on April 26, 1936 to Mrs. Josephine Burris Smith and Mr. Robert Smith. She was the first child of their family. Three years later she was blessed with a brother, Gregory Robert. Her family grew to include another brother, James Henderson, followed by a sister, Linda B. and finally her third brother, Larry Aljanar. Patricia’s love and devotion to her brothers and sister knew no boundaries and she was a devoted daughter to her parents until their homegoing.
Patricia lived in Mobile, AL until the late 1960’s when she moved to San Francisco with her family. She was educated in the Mobile County Schools District and furthered her education at Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL and New York State University in Albany, NY. She taught school in Mobile for a number of years and was an administrator at Talladega College in Talladega, AL and John Adams Community College in San Francisco, CA before she met and married her husband of thirty years, Dr. Clyde Smith, and moved with him to Cincinnati, OH.
Patricia was loved and adored by all who were blessed to know her. Just prior to answering God’s call to come home, she smiled to her earthly family and went home to be His angel. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, James Henderson and Larry Aljanar. She will be sadly missed by her surviving and loving husband, Dr. Clyde Smith of Cincinnati, OH; her surviving brother whom she loved dearly and talked to by phone every Monday, Gregory Robert (Juliette) Smith; her loving sister, Linda B. Smith of Oakland, CA whom she cherished throughout life; one nephew, Mark Alonzo Smith of Talladega, AL; two sisters-in law, Mrs. Thelma Horn and Correl Smith; and a brother-in-law, Woody Smith all of Cincinnati, OH; her life long friend, Ms. Von Young of Mobile, Alabama; her long-time devoted Oxford, OH friends, Ronald and Patricia Ellis; and special and devoted friends, Ms. Henrietta Manga and Ms. Alberta Manga of Cincinnati, OH; Leon and Barbara Hawthorne of Canton, MI; and a host of other friends.
Patricia was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was a cherished pearl.
