It is with great sadness that the family of Osaretin Osaze'-Agomo (Osa), lovingly called Gwen by her closest friends, announces her Sunset after her 7 day fight to see another Sunrise ended on May 25th 2019 at age 71 years.
Osa graduated from Job Corps-Cleveland with her High School Diploma and Medical Trade Completion Certificate.
She went on to serve in the National Guard and from there she enlisted in the Army. Where she served for more than a decade as a Medical Records File Clerk, Patient Administration Specialist, Finance Specialist, Sharp Shooter/Sniper and MP (military police). Osa was a skilled, Decorated Marksman, receiving accolades as an M-16 Rifle Expert, Hand Grenade Marksman and .38 Caliber Pistol Marksman. She received the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon before being Honorably Discharged on July 25, 1986.
Osa returned to Ohio, making her home in Hamilton. Where she formed some everlasting Sisterhoods with Denise (Niecy) Wright, Ann Smith, Jean Smith, LeaRae Jones, Geraldine (Gerri) Dunson and Lucille Mills. Her Sisters for life! Working as a Certified Nurses Aid until her retirement in 1986, she then dedicated her days to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren until her final Sunset. She was surrounded by 4 generations of her family, who talked with her, did her hair, sang to her, cried over her, and celebrated her life that entire day before. She gave her babygirl, Sonsiere', 20 extra hrs. with her as she sat with her Mother, holding her hand and never leaving her side until she took her last breath on May 25, 2019 at 11:55am.
Those whose Sunsets came before hers was:
Her Uncle, Thomas Lee Fails
Her loving Mother, Florence Irene Fails
Her Granddaughter, Osaretin Arlene La'Shelle Osaze'-King
And her Grandmother, Harriet Mae Allen of Middletown, OH.
Osa leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory;
