Odis Lee Copeland, Jr. age 77, found rest on Saturday evening, January 12, 2019. Odis was born to the union of Odis Lee Copeland, Sr. and Willora Randall on October 6, 1941 in Magnolia, Arkansas.
Odis graduated from Libbey High School, where he played football and basketball. At an early age he attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with his Mother. He was a Millwright at Doehler-Jarvis Inc. for thirty years. In 1986, he married Judith “Judi” M. Price. Odis and Judi had a blended family of eight daughters and one son.
Odis was very talented and creative and had a great passion for working with his hands. He could build or fix anything. He loved music, but Odis had a great passion for the blues. It was not uncommon to hear B.B. King or other singers bellowing from the speakers while he was working around the house. Although, known for his tough exterior, Odis had a huge, caring heart and would do anything for the people he loved and cared for. Odis also had a great sense of humor. He was a man of his word, had great discipline and would do exactly what he said he would do.
Odis was preceded in death by: his father, Odis Lee Copeland Sr., his mother, Willora Randall, and his daughter, Ernestine Moore.
He is survived by: his wife, Judi, and eight children, Andrea (David), Patti (Anthony), Karla (Brian), Valencia (Joshua), Cynthia, Frederick (Taneitha), Taneisha (Harvey), Jennifer (Millard); eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one uncle, Joe Lanford, cousins, his best-friend, Travis Coleman; and a host of other longtime friends.
