Mitchell Burns, Jr. Obituary

Mitchell Burns of Middletown, Ohio was born on April 19, 1931 and passed on July 19, 2020 at Hospice of Ohio.  Mitchell Burns Jr was born in Jefferson, Georgia to Nellie and Mitchell Burns Sr. Mitchell graduated from Middletown High School. Upon graduating he entered the United States Air Force, serving in Korea, Mitchell was known for his achievements. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Mitchell worked for AK Steel for 45 years and was one of the first blacks to become a Skilled Laborer. After retirement Mitchell worked as a Bailiff for the Municipal Courts, he was also honored as a Kentucky Colonel. Mitchell met no strangers and was loved in his community. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife Eunice Faye Burns; his parents Nellie and Mitchell Burns Sr.; his son Kerwin Burns and his daughter Michele Burns. Mitchell was an amazing father and friend to many. Mitchell will be truly missed. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Damelle Micole Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, and two granddaughters Kortney Jones and Ashley Jones. He also leaves to mourn his death six great-grandchildren: Kayden Jones, Emoni Mitchell, Noah Betts, Khari Jones, Kross Jones, and Kharsyn Jones all of Atlanta, Georgia, and a special friend Joyce Green of Middletown, Ohio and David Robinson.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
