Mildred R. Oglesby, age 94, of Dayton, Ohio departed this earth on the 2nd of February 2024 at Grandview Hospital. Mildred was born in Carlisle Arkansas on October 19, 1929. She was born to the late Robert and Cordella Bogard.
Mildred is survived by one daughter, Gwendolyn Williams; 4 grandchildren, Johnnie G. Williams, Andre L. Williams, Jeanine Huffman and Michelle Williams; ten great-grandchildren Keisa Yarborough, Dontay Yarborough, Andre Williams Jr., Anecia Williams, Grace Williams, Travis Williams Jr., DeVante' Jones-Banks, Anthony Young, Jai-Ln Stafford and KeShawn Stafford.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn A. Jones-Freeling; grandson, Roy J. Jones; siblings, Colone Early, Eula Nichols, Mary Wright, Roy Bogard, Ike Bogard, William (Billy) Bogard, Walter Bogard and Steve Bogard. Mildred was blessed with multiple great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and bonus family members.
Mildred attended an all-girls private school and worked domestically throughout her life. She was an active and dedicated member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Golden Ages Group and a Senior Companion within her community. She loved shrimp and any form of potato. Her family was her priority and number one love in her life; she never met a stranger.
She will be sorely missed, cherished and remembered by all.
