Mary Jean Evans was born on January 22, 1944 in Akron, Alabama. She had several sisters and many extended family members. She relocated to Hamilton, Ohio in 1969 were she raised her children and grand children until May 4, 2020 when she went home to be with Jesus.
Mary was employed at Champion Paper company and married Thomas Ellis Sims in 1986, Thomas preceded her in death but they will spend eternity together.
Even though Mary had a simple beginning, she spent time traveling the world. One of her prized possessions was a rock from the Dead sea, she collected while visiting the Middle Eastand Jerusalem. While there she was able to visit the birthplace of Christ.
Mary spent many of the more recent years traveling with her sisters and in-laws on various adventures; but also returning home to Alabama to visit and intern family.
Mary had many prized possessions namely her family and her church family. She was a member of Second St, Baptist of Middletown, Ohio.
Mary is survived by her children, Ernestine Long, Thomas Long, Varisteen Evans. Her sister Ora Bee, sister/ cousin Gerry Garrett. Her grandchildren, Tiffany Long, DeAndre Long, Deshawn Long, Thomas Long and Patrick Bourne, many great grandchildren, a host of family and friends and Special friend Rosie Casson. She was preceded in death by her children Mary Annette Quarrel, Enoch Lee Long and Wilmer Long, Jr.
We would also like to remember her deceased sisters, Jerrie Dean Evans, Urlene Evans and Perline Evans.

Mary will be missed, she won’t be forgotten, these memories will not be let go.
