Mary Christina Voner-Boggs affectionately known as “Effie” to her family and friends was born September 24, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the third child to the union of the late Mary C. and Clenard R. Voner.
Mary was baptized at St. Anthony Catholic Church (West End) in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951.
Mary was a loyal employee of Shapley Shirt Factory and Casco Products. After her retirement, Mary became a certified day care provider starting her private in home child daycare business.
On November 17, 1992, Mary was joined in marriage to Gary Boggs.
After valiantly fighting cancer for several years, Mary surrendered the fight and answered the Lord’s call to come home on September 30, 2021.
Mary was a devoted mother and an avid reader of books. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, (especially her making her famous homemade yeast rolls), family and caring for children. She had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful story teller.
She is survived by a devoted husband, Gary; loving and obedient son, Eddie Arnold Avery; one sister, Phyllis (Alvin) Kelley; three brothers, Frank Voner, Sr., Alexander (Florence) Voner and Howard Voner and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
An extremely spiritual woman and one with a tremendously generous nature, Mary had a positive influence on her family, friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
