Lew Alan Henderson was born January 15, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio, the eldest of four children born to the late Jeanette Henderson and Leroy Henderson.
He was educated in Hamilton City Schools, graduating from Taft High School in 1969.
Alan was an avid reader and in his own right, a scholar. His love and appetite for books was well known by both family and friends. Regularly, he would walk to the Lane Public Library with a newspaper in hand to check out new items to read.
He was also an athlete and advent sports fan. As a youth, he played baseball and in high school, he roamed the grid irons as a linebacker for Taft Tigers. He enjoyed watching college and professional sports on TV. His favorite NFL team was the Cleveland Browns.
“Biscuit” as he was affectionately known as was a fisherman; learning the art of the piscatory lifestyle from his grandfathers, Olden Shepherd and Willie Tyson.
On Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Westover Retirement Community, Alan passed away where he will be reunited with his parents and sister, Mary Lois Henderson.
Left to cherish his memory: siblings, Karen Butler of Hamilton, OH, Bernadette Brown of Hamilton, OH, Kevin (Sandra) Henderson of Hamilton, OH and Leroy (Katonia Brown) Henderson of Springfield, OH along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
