Leola Blair Jones was born on July 12, 1927 to the union of Henry and Della Blair in Fitzpatrick, AL. She grew up in Alabama with a loving family of six brothers and three sisters. On Thursday, January 16, 2020, God commissioned his holy host of angels to escort her home. For that we are ever so grateful.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Oak Grove Baptist Church of Fitzpatrick, AL. In 1942 she moved to Hamilton, OH to be with her sister and brother-in-law, M.C. and Bertha Howard. After moving to Hamilton, OH, Leola joined Pilgrim Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health started failing.
She was married to the late, Joseph Jones for seventy-one years. Preceding her in death on January 18, 2014.
She was a housewife, homemaker, and babysitting numerous children (the days when it took a whole village to raise kids). Leola, took care of all of the nieces and nephews tending to their care and needs. She was employed by Leshners of Hamilton, OH.
Leola enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and yes baking. She not only had a garden, but she had a beautiful garden of children and young adults that she nurtured and cared for.
Leola was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Della Blair; husband, Joseph; and siblings, John, Jimmy, Tilman, George, Ben, Bessie, Bertha and Mattie P. and baby Joseph.
She leaves to cherish and mourn her memory: a host of nieces, nephews (five generations), cousins and friends. She relied and depended on Anita Knight, great niece and Jackie Taylor, great-great niece to care for her daily needs. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
