Leila Nickerson Obituary

Leila Diane Nickerson, age 43, was born on April 7, 1978, in Dayton, Ohio. On Tuesday,

September  14, 2021, God saw that his faithful servant Leila was tired and calle􀀈ome to

 

Leila was preceded in death by her son Damauri, grandparents Otis and Doris Fountaine, uncles Grant and William Fountaine and Joseph Battle, Sr., niece Ashley McDonald.

Leila attended Dayton Public Schools as a student enrolled in the Gifted and Talented Program. She graduated at the age of 16 from Patterson Co-Op High School. She loved children and began her life's work in day care at Playtime Nursery which she bad attended as a child. She later worked at Kid's Academy and Miami Valley Child Development Center. Leila also attended classes at Sinclair College while working to get her degree in child care.

Leila was a member of Freewill Primitive Baptist Church where she served as a Jr. Usher and sang in the youth choir, later becoming a member of the Potter's House.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Doris D. Fountaine, 2 daughters Dai Viana and Dai Ziyah Scandrick, 1 son De Angelo Scandrick, Jr., 2 grand children Airess Scandrick and Amauri Jones, I sister De Anna Abney, l brother Romello Michaels, 3 uncles Otis, Jr., Al and Steven Fountaine, special cousins Latasha, Laura and Brandy Fountaine, special friends Janell Davis and Brittney Brown, 4 God-children Jeffrey Peters, Alani and Adonis Lauderdale, Jasmine Perkins and numerous other relatives and friends.
