Kevin Baker was born May 30, 1960 in Hamilton, Ohio to James Baker (preceded in death) and Evvie Baker. He departed this life for Eternal Rest on April 26, 2023.
Kevin attended Hamilton City Schools. After which he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon his departure from the military, he took up residence in Denver, CO where he resided for several years.
Kevin worked different jobs; mostly with computers. He spoke intelligently and therefore thrived in the Customer Service and IT field. To work these types of jobs you also have to have patience and compassion and Kevin had both and was very good at his job.
On August 15, 1992, Kevin was united in Holy Matrimony to Vanessa. They soon decided to relocate to Dallas, TX where Kevin found his calling in life. He gave his life to Christ in 1996 and soon after Kevin began working for a Christian-based men's program as a counselor which was started by the pastor of the church. Kevin's personality was exuberant and compassionate, and he loved to lift up and encourage other people to succeed in life. His dream was to open a center for men here in Hamilton, OH to continue his work.
At the time of his transition, Kevin was a devoted and faithful member of Heirs Covenant Church where he served in whatever capacity needed.
To know Kevin was to love him. He was a kind, loving, caring, and giving man and would give freely to those who needed help. He was seriously witty and had an infectious laugh that would light up a room. He loved cooking, watching football, basketball, movies, and television shows. Sci-Fi and documentaries were his favorites. Kevin loved fishing and just enjoyed being around his family.
Kevin was preceded in death by his dad: James L. Baker and his siblings: Marlethia Robinson and Kendrick Baker.
Kevin leaves to cherish in his memory: his mother: Evvie Baker of Middletown, Ohio; five children: Lakia Thomas of Denver, CO; Xavier Baker of Dallas, TX; Checarai Aloisio of Denver, CO; Martice McBride of Charleston, SC, Amber (Stanley) Henson of Bauxite, AR; siblings: Kathy (Jeff) Hill of Denver, CO; Karen Perrin of Clinton, MD; Karohnda (Anthony) Freeman of Miamisburg, OH and Quinton Wells of Denver, CO; four treasured grandchildren: Gia, Myka, Zy'ier, and Raya; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
