Juanita Isreal Obituary

Juanita Isreal was born June 23, 1932 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Alter Brooks and Clemie Brooks (Jackson). She was peacefully delivered into the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday April 10, 2022 at the age of 89 at Westover Nursing Home.

She attended Hamilton City Schools and graduated in 1951. During high school her love for music bloomed. She was able to sing in various programs.

Juanita married Walter Isreal Sr. and became a devoted wife and mother of their seven children; Clemie, Jerome, Michael, Walter, Otis, Alter and Vincent.

She was a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church of Hamilton, Ohio. She taught in the Sunday School, she was a soprano in the mass choir and became a Deacon of the church. Juanita loved singing so much. She later joined the Hamilton Community Choir and she achieved one of her dreams singing at Carnegie Hall in New York City on May 30, 2005.

She talked, walked, and sang about the lord in and out of their house along with her husband’s support making sure her children attended Sunday school and church. She loved the Lord and knew this example and foundation would give them a choice to choose the world examples or cling onto the master’s Plan of Salvation, as they matured in the Lord.

She along with great assistance from her husband, enjoyed making sure their yard was meticulously maintained and full of flowers until she was unable to anymore.  She loved cooking and so enjoyed seeing others enjoy her delicious meals, especially her often requested Parker House rolls and 7-up pound cake.  She loved spending time with her family; occasionally traveling with them throughout the years. She always had a smile ready for anyone she met. There’s a song often sang during Christmas time (Giving, sharing at Christmas time, helping one another all the time); well this was Juanita Isreal.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her son, Alter L. Isreal.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sisters Laverne Braddell and Alberta Houston (Larry); daughter, Clemie Palmer (Michael); sons, Jerome (Jeanette), Michael (Marcia), Walter III, Otis and Vincent (Charlene); 19 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

1 Corinthians 9:24 — King James Version (KJV 1900) ~ Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
