Herman Lewis

Herman William Lewis was born on November 11, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Juanita Doty and Herman Robison. Herman was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System, where at one point he was known to be the fastest man in Cincinnati.  He graduated from Taft High School in 1964. After graduation he enlisted and served in the US Army.  Following his service in the Army, Herman was employed by General Electric until he retired.

Herman, pops, dad, grandpa, uncle Herman, daddy Herman was a father figure to many.  He loved his nieces and nephews like they were his own and he treated them as such.  He was a strict disciplinarian who didn’t mind straightening you out when needed.  The boys knew when Herman brought the gloves out, they were in some serious trouble. 

Herman loved music (jazz and blues) and spending time with his grandchildren.   He had a special affinity for nice cars and would often cruise around town in his whip to visit his favorite sister and family members.  He enjoyed and looked forward to a daily cup of Joe from White Castle, but nothing gave him more delight than attending family gatherings.

Herman made his transition into eternity on May 19, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory, his ever-devoted son Brian Lewis, sons, Herman (Tiffany) and Donald (Vicki) Travis; daughter Shawntell Miller; eight grandchildren N’Keyvah, Chianne Damian, Jeremiah,  Donovan, Devynn, Cherish , and Zion.  One great-grandchild  Alana;  a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special friends.

Herman’s parents; brother, Alfred Lewis; two sisters, Barbara Lewis and Mary Lewis preceded him in death.
