Gwendolyn Wright

Gwendolyn Wright (Godfrey) was born on September 18, 1941 to Olin and Mattie Godfrey in Cincinnati, OH.  The youngest of 10 siblings, she graduated from Taft High School where she met her future husband, Thomas.

Gwen gave her life to the Lord at an early age at New Bethel Baptist Church.  Gwen was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Wright on August 5, 1960.  Their union was blessed with seven children.  Gwen dedicated her life to raising not only her own children but foster children as well.  Gwen was a kind, caring and generous giver to anyone who was in need.

Gwen loved spending time with family and giving to others.  Being generous to others brought her tremendous joy.

Gwen was called to be with the Lord on January 19, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Mattie Godfrey, husband Thomas Wright and her nine siblings.  She is survived by her seven children; Thomas Jr. (Tony), Kimberly (Richard), Evelyn (Candi), Jeffrey, Krystal, Christopher and Carolyn; 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and abundance of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
