Garry Keith Allen, the son of the late George Washington Allen and Marion Elizabeth (Blair) was born April 30, 1949 in Muncie, Indiana. Although born in Indiana, he was raised in Lincoln Heights, Ohio. He graduated from St. Simon and then went on to attend Withrow High School. He graduated from Withrow in 1968 and then attended Central State University.
Garry always loved sports. He was a diehard Bengals fan and had a love for basketball. He would joke that he used to play like Jordan.
Garry also had a passion for cars. This passion for cars started at a young age. At one point in his life, he was part owner of a carwash named Scrub-A-Bubba. He considered himself to be the “Detail Man”. He always gave advice on how to keep your ride clean.
Garry leaves to cherish is memories; his only son, Brandon and stepdaughter, DeYonda Barry; two sisters, Linda Holmes of New York and Susan Brown of Washington, DC; eight grandchildren, Briasia, Brandon, Jr., Brittany, Masen, and Brooklyn Allen, Anthony, Aaron and Alec Barry; one niece, Jennifer; three nephews, Christopher, Adam and Jason and a host of many many other relatives and friends.
