Fannie Mae was born to L.P. and Martha Perdue on October 12, 1934 in Montgomery, Alabama, the first of three children. She departed this life on January 1, 2021 with family by her side.
Fannie moved to Ohio in 1963 with her four daughters and made Middletown her home. Devoting her life to the Lord at an early age in Alabama, Fannie joined Tried Stone Baptist Church once she moved to Middletown. She devoted her time caring for the church making the members part of her family.
She retired from Middletown Regional Hospital after 30 years, then spent years working at Middletown Senior Citizens and Sodexo for Middletown City Schools.
Fannie married Kirby Edwards on June 5, 2000. They enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with friends and family. He loved her children and grandchildren as his own.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters Linda Fuller and Debra Beverly, brother Eddie Perdue, sister Anna Stevenson, son-in-law Elmore Adams, husband Kirby Edwards and very best friend Linda Edmonds.
Affectionately known as Ma Fannie, she leaves to cherish her spirit two daughters, Jacqueline Moore and Vinessa Adams, loving grandchildren Tina Fuller, Frank Beverly, Jovon Beverly, Kenyatta Robinson, Duane Winkfield Jr. and Tyiesha Adams. Devoted niece, Debra Perdue. Caring aunt Margaret Henderson. Spiritual children Melissa and Gregory Hart, Jennifer Edwards, Patricia Robinson, Carlene and Darlene Breedlove. 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren including her special “Maw-Maw’s baby” Arys Oatneal and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.
