Elmer Gene Harris, Jr. affectionately known as “G Money, OG and Old Skool”, age 57 of Dayton, Ohip passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on July 8, 1964 to the parents of Mary Ann and Elmer Harris, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann and Elmer Harris, Sr. and his sisters, Tiffany Harris and Tasha Cannon.
Elmer is survived by his sister, Tonya Dixon; his loving wife, Debra Harris of 30 years; his daughters, Joyce Harris, Denise Harris, Angel Harris and Brianna Harris; sons, Gene Harris, Jamal Harris and Dequan Harris; grandson, Kenneth Wilson, Jr.; granddaughter, Ja’laya Wilson; brother in law, Charles Ramey of Dayton, Ohio, brother in law, Steven Cannon of Dayton, Ohio along with his lovely nieces and nephews, other family and friends that loved him.
Gene was known as a very outgoing person that knew how to lighten up a room. He was always the life of the party; knew how to brighten up your day even at your lowest of times. He could crack a joke and put a smile on your anyone’s smile. Gene made a big impact on everyone he encountered. Once you met him, you could never forget him. The most authentic, raw, blunt, energetic, courageous and outspoken person we knew. “Old Skool” was the type to step out the box with crazy fashion sense. A man with his own swagger and talents. He loved many things from sunglasses, dress hats, jewelry, cooking, dancing, music and last but not least the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Until we meet again, forever and always in our hearts OG.
