NBA Legend Dwight A. Anderson Sr.“THE BLUR”, age 61 passed awaySaturday, September 5, 2020 at his home.He was an employee at Economy Linen.
A graduate from Roth High School class of 78 with an outstanding career that earned him national recognition such as the McDonalds All American and the First Team All American.
Dwight attended college at University of Kentucky and later transferred to University of Southern California as a 6-foot 3-point guard. He was drafted in 1982/round 2 pick, 41st overall. Later selected by the Washington Bullets, He went on to play for the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers, followed by several seasons in the Continental Basketball Association.
Dwight was proceeded in death by his brother; Jeffrey T. Anderson and nephew; Kory T. Sturdivant.
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Joe Lewis and Fannie Walker. (1) Sister; Toni Anderson, (1) Brother; Arthur Anderson (3) children; Dwight A. Anderson Jr., DaWana A. Anderson and Darian Leslie. (5) Grandchildren; Alexis R. Anderson, Dajea A Bristow, Dwight A. Anderson III, Dayjaun D. Anderson and Armani A. Carter. Special friends; Lee Maddox, Rick Dawson, Mark Hudson and Coach Powell. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who loved him dearly.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 18th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Donald Jordan Memorial Chapel 4882 Germantown Pike Dayton, OH. Private funeral service will be held on Saturday, September19th(tickets only). All are welcome to join us at the burial site approximately at 12:00 PM at Shiloh Park Cemetery at the corner of Main St and Philadelphia inDayton, Ohio. Services entrusted to Donald Jordan Memorial Chapel.
