Mother Dorothy, an only child, was born May 27, 1938 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Milton and Ollie Jenkins. She attended Dunbar High School. At the age of 16, she met and married her first love, Mr. Robert Erwin Sr. To this union, 5 children were born: Robert, Deborah, Sheila, Annette and Bruce. She later met and married George Acoff.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband George Acoff; two daughters, Deborah Nooks and Sheila Wilson; son, Bruce A. Erwin Sr.; two sons-in-law, James Wilson and Gilbert W. Dillard; one grandson, Vaughn M.C. Erwin Sr.; and three great grandsons, twins Ce'Zar and Tay'Von Erwin and DaVontay Stewart.
Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Annette(Anthony Wright) Dillard; loving son, Robert Erwin Jr.; daughter, Dora Erwin; ten grandchildren, James and Jasmine Waller, Clifford Wilson, Edward (Ryan) Brown Kennedy III, Di'Onte Wagner, Antoinette Erwin, Bruce Erwin Jr, Demetrius Brown, Sherrie (Sayeed) Wilson Ismail, Tishera(Richard) Tillis, 25 great grandchildren who are all loved; two grandsons in-law, Darrick Stewart and TraMehl Turley Sr.; loving aunt, Tina (Joe) Nelson-Fluellen; niece, Shayvonna Cornelius; best friends of many years, Anna Tate, Janet Stevens, Viona Wells and Hurley Parks and numerous other family friends and loved ones.
Dorothy's love of Christ knew no bounds and if you didn't know you knew after meeting her. Dorothy was so creative in anything she touched. She was the Queen of ‘one woman's junk is another woman's treasure’. Everyone she met became family. She loved to dance and garden.
