Derrick LaQuan Landers

Mr. Derrick LaQuan Landers was born October 20, 1990 in Dayton, OH to Ellison Landers and Shirley McDowell-Hazim.

On September 21, 2019, the day of his brother’s funeral, Derrick decided to give his life to the Lord. Since the day he made that decision, he would pray, and his faith grew to the point where he began to accept God’s will for his life.

Derrick was always a private person; but always considered the needs of others. He was a very caring person and would do anything for the people he knew he had the power to help. For the past couple of years, Derrick battled from complication of his illness. But on March 5, 2020, Jesus decided to relieve him of his suffering. Derrick transitioned his journey to be with the Lord where he joined his loved ones who preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his family and ask that everyone continue to pray for them as they heal from this process of another great loss.

Left to cherish his memories; his devoted mother, Shirley (Ziyad) Hazim; father, Ellison Landers; one child, Deonie Landers’ two brothers, Demetrice (Lawanda) McDowell of Montgomery, AL and Ellison (Andrea) Landers, Jr. of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Latoria Landers and Shareka (Allen) Whitmore of Dayton, OH; grandmother, Betty McDowell of Dayton, OH; grandfather, Willie (Ann) McCall of Montgomery, AL along with his extended family, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
