Deborah Yvonne Riley

Deborah Y. (Burgess) Riley was born on February 12, 1949 to her parents, Booker T. Burgess and Annie Ruth (Hunter) Burgess in Cleveland, Ohio. She departed this life on Monday April 12, 2021 at the age of 72.

Deborah was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the kitchen auxiliary. She was an excellent cook, avid gardener, great dancer and she loved to read. On nice days, she could be found on her front porch talking with friends and family and waving at the people walking and driving by. Deborah retired from Cornerstone, where she was the lead gift wrapper and trainer for her department. She was known for her sarcasm, and humor. Deborah never met a stranger as evidenced by the outpouring of love and support from the community. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Clarence Peavy of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas “Tommie” Burgess of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Benjamin “Benny” Burgess of Middletown, Ohio. Brother in law, James “Jehu” White of Middletown, Ohio. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son, Aaron Burgess; her loving sister Beverly White; two grandsons Devin Burgess and Donavin Lige; two nieces, Lakishma (Alex) Sims and Tiana Burgess; two nephews, Shawn (Lucretia) White and Brandon (Stephanie) White; special friend Donald Riley, and a host of beloved cousins, family and friends.
