Deanna Givens

Deanna Michelle Givens was born March 13, 1989 at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, OH to Delisa Givens and Roderick Dion Curtis.  On Saturday, March 26, 2022, God called his angel home.  Deanna fought a food fight and completed her task through her illness and will always be honored.

Deanna loved family gatherings; she was big on family.  She was well appreciated by her family and friends for her brave and protective energy.  Her nickname was Beanie which she got from her father when she was kid because she loved beanie weanies.  She was a very affectionate person.  If she loved you she either told you or showed you every chance she got.  She was always hugging and kissing the babies; she loved kids. 

Deanna made sure she was taken care of.  She loved to shop, rather it was for food or clothes, she was going to get what she wanted.  No one could ever say she used them.  She had a big heart.  You could tell her anything and never had to be concerned about being judged or being treated differently.  She always had the right answer to things of any nature.  Her intuition was esteemed by the ones she expresses her thoughts to. 

Her daughter, Curniyla was her everything.  She did the best she could and was willing to learn what she needed or wanted to know.  She was the one in the family that had a good bond with everyone.  She loved cracking jokes and just laughing at whatever was going on at the moment.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Curniyla Hightower; her parents, Delisa Givens (Damien Varner) and Roderick Dion Curtis; her aunts, Jessica Givens, Mariah Miles, Chancey Makenzie and Terri Parker; her uncles, Adair Givens, Darnell Chandler Sr., Cedrick Chandler Sr., Michael Miles, Terrance Makenzie, Jermaine Makenzie, Ken Holmes and Prece Curtis; her siblings, De’ Ernest Collins, Damion Varner, Brittany Page, Roderick Dion Curtis Jr., Nautica Curtis, Kylie Ray, Kahnia Richardson, Demekeonna Bryant, Lamiah Adams, Zion Singletary, Jade Robertson, Donovan and Tez; her grandparents, Shirley Givens, Ann Curtis (James) Ridley, Janice MacKenzie and Charles Sparks; her nieces, Sonai, Dior, Armani, Dream, Rose and Kali; her special friends, Chameil Causey and Dontae Causey.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Terry MacKenzie.
