Danny Ray Griffin peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 22, 2021 after an extended illness at home. During his illness, he never complained. He would tell you he loved the Lord. He was born in Rome, Georgia on Tuesday January 22, 1963, to the late Annie L. Griffin and Willie Jones. He was educated in the Rome Georgia School system and attended Main High School. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he moved to Nashville Tennessee.
Danny accepted Christ April 11, 1976, at Holsey-Senai C.M.E. Church under the leadership of Pastor Walker. After moving to Nashville, he became a member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Morgan Babbs where he served on the Usher Board and was a member of the choir. Danny later moved to Dayton to be closer to his family and united with the United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Leroy Cothran.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Annie L Griffin; father, Willie Jones, three sister Annie Mosley, Janice Brown and Linda Griffin, six brothers: Edward, Bobbie, Willie, Leroy, Hugh Don and Nathaniel.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Ida McCorkle, Carolyn (Willie) Franklin of Dayton, Ohio and Marcia Mostiller of Rome, Georgia, two brothers, Johnnie Griffin of Mobile, Alabama and Ben Larry Griffin of Rome, Georgia, forty-four nieces and nephews and host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
