Daniel Gregory Schooler

DANIEL GREGORY SCHOOLER, age 74 of Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2022 at Ohio State University Hospital. Daniel was born on July 12, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Pastor Allen and Annie Schooler. Daniel was the youngest of thirteen children. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Pastor Allen and Annie Schooler, his siblings, Pastor Paul A. Schooler, Lucielle A. Schooler-Brown, Christina Schooler-Bowman, Pastor James E. Schooler, Mary (Looper) Schooler-Lavelle, Joanna Schooler-Napier, Shirley Schooler-Hinesmon, Linda Schooler-Rutledge, William Schooler and Robert Schooler. 

Daniel attended Dunbar High School. He was then drafted from high school into the United States Army in which he later received an honorable discharged. Daniel was also a General Motors retiree.

He loved God and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and again as an adult. He was an avid reader and researcher, who loved to play pool. Daniel loved his family and especially his sisters; he would do anything to protect and help them. 

Daniel is survived by his children, Tanya (Keith) Hogan, Danielle Byrd, Robert (April) Long and Tempestt (Jeff) Camp; sister, Margaret T. Schooler; five granddaughters, Donica Cooley, Kennedy Byrd, A’Niylah Mason, Ava Long and Ja’Bre Camp; five grandsons, Joseph Martin, Kenyon Byrd, Ostin Long, A’Luani Mason, and Rodney Frost; one great grandson, Rylan Moreland and special friend, Sheila Shell. 

Daniel was a very loving and devoted father, sibling, uncle, and friend.  Daniel will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
