Dan Henry Howard was born May 22, 1928 in Prospect, Tennessee to the late Benjamin and Carrie (Gilbert) Howard, both of Oak Grove, TN. He departed this life on August 20, 2020 at his home in Hamilton, Ohio.
Dan was educated at the Anthony Hill Colored School in Goodspring, TN. He came to Hamilton, Ohio for work. He was employed by Hamilton Foundry for the majority of his adult life. He completed his GED in Hamilton, and obtained a two year degree from Miami University - Hamilton Campus to advance his employment. Dan was a member of the management team for Hamilton Foundry Division, Hamilton Allied Corporation. He was proficient in the requirements for High Density Molding and certified by the Cast Metals Institute/American Foundrymen's Society.
Upon coming to Ohio, Dan met and married Juanita Orr from Cincinnati, Ohio. They have been married for 70 years and raised their four children in Hamilton, Ohio. Dan is survived by his beloved wife and children Deborah Scott (husband Ron Scott), Dan H. Howard Jr., Derek Howard (wife Susan Mosley-Howard), Prentis Howard, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by four siblings; Shirley, Margaret, Stella, and Benjamin. He is also survived by many other relatives and close friends.
Dan is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and a man who sought righteousness.
