Clara Sue Appleberry

Clara Sue Appleberry, age 72 was born August 20, 1948, in Union, Mississippi to Lela Mae Patrick and O’Dell Patrick, Sr. She moved to Dayton, OH at an early age with her family. 

She was a member of Rockhill Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a graduate of Paul L. Dunbar class of 1966. She was employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital for 30 plus years. 

Clara was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother to many. She loved cooking, camping, and motorcycle riding with her husband and children. Clara was a mother to ALL. She cared for many children who were not her own without any hesitation and you would not have known they were not hers unless you asked.

On Tuesday May 25, 2021, Clara transitioned from this earthly life into eternity lying in her hospital bed while taking a nap and holding her husband Ronnie’s hand. She was preceded in death by her parents, O’Dell and Lela Patrick; sister, Mary Patrick, and oldest son, Tyson Lavon Patrick Sr. 

She leaves to cherish fond memories and celebrate her life; husband Ronald P Appleberry; children, Jacqueline L. Dixon, Rhonda P. Matthews (Alexis), Ronald O’ Dell Appleberry, Sr.; sisters, Evelyn Patrick, Linda Bobanie-Browne (Johnathan), Sandra Ivery (Clifford), Gunder L. Payne (Bruce), Almarie Jewell (Denver), Valerie Owens, Karen Core and Angie Chastain; brothers, O’Dell Patrick Jr (Yvonne), and Jerry Patrick; an aunt, uncle and a host of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, special family and friends.
