Christian Camp Obituary

Christian D. Camp age, 67 was born on March 5, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Virgil E. Camp and Shirley J. Camp Spears. Christian was called home to eternal rest at home on Sunday April 30, 2023, surrounded by family and friends following a sudden illness.

Chris accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Pastor A.Z. Crawford and rededicated their life to Christ in 2016 being re-baptized by Pastor Rodney Cranford and Brother-in-law Joseph Connors at First Baptist Church of Ridgewood Heights. Chris was a loyal, committed, dedicated, faithful and supportive member until becoming ill. Chris loved attending Sunday school, bible study, serving on the pastoral anniversary committee, supporting church events and most of all learning more about the word of God. Chris also served as maintenance engineer, making sure that the church was always kept decent and in order.

Chris attended Colonel White High School from freshman to junior year and enjoyed playing on the basketball and baseball team and went on to graduate from Patterson Cooperative High School in 1974. Chris attended a non-traditional trade school learning skills in construction, plumbing, drywall hanging, carpentry and electrical later becoming the first female of color to work in a non-traditional field and was a flagger and skilled jackhammer user while working construction during that time. Chris was also a gifted artist and could draw anything just by looking at it, creating many beautiful art pieces, a great cook and gardener, just to name a few.

Chris was a very loving, kind, and caring parent, grandparent, sister, daughter, friend, cousin, aunt, niece, caregiver, granddaughter, and church member. Affectionately called grampie or batman by those close to her. Always willing to help others and be of service. Chris loved her family, friends, art, movies, and helping to feed neighbors by sharing food.

Preceded in death by Infant granddaughter Miracle Snowden and paternal grandparents.

Left to cherish precious memories are daughter RaQuitta M. Camp (Keyta) son Steven M. Kauth, granddaughters, Marceya’ & MarCiara Snowden and their father Louis Snowden. 3 loving sisters and brother-in-law, Marcia (Joseph) Connors, Evelynn Wood & Jacqueline Camp, 7 nieces, 5 nephews, 15 great nieces, 11 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces and 1 great-great nephew, 5 aunts, 2 uncles, friend of the family Carlena Miller, extended family Tara (Shane) Dixon, Lajenea, Christopher & Stephanie Lockett, Snowden, & Shaw family and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends
