Chicola Letetia Taylor, affectionately known as “Ment,” was born July 21,1954 in Dayton, Ohio to Christine (Knight) Williams and Christion Taylor.
Chicola was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1974, where she received a standing ovation for being one of the first students to obtain her diploma with two small children. Chicola was a faithful member of Mount Paran Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a soloist, choir director and stood in for any other duty God bestowed upon her at the time.
Chicola was proceeded in death by her parents, and one brother Michael “Sunny” Taylor Senior.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, 1 loving daughter/caregiver Letitia (Michael) Joyner, 2 wonderful sons, Anthony Benson Sr. and Gregory Taylor. 7 grandchildren, Doniqua Taylor, Jamica Williams, Anthony Benson Jr., Antwanette Benson, Larry Benson, Asiah Watkins, Khai Smith, 5 great grandchildren, and 15 bonus grandchildren. 5 sisters, Barbra Wallace, Beverly Johnson, Priscilla Davis, Naheema Tahara, and Elaine Drake. Special friends Mae Strozier, Tonya Wright Young, and Wanda Campbell. She also leaves behind a host of Nieces, nephews, family and Friends.
