Cathy Lynn (Moss) Walker

Cathy Lynn Walker entered into eternal peace on Monday, December 23, 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 55.  Born in Middletown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ernestine Moss and the late Raymond Moss, Sr.
 
Cathy was affectionately known as “Chatty” Cathy during her childhood. Cathy attended Middletown City Schools until she graduated in 1982. Throughout her high-school career, she made many friends because of her gregarious personality. She thoroughly enjoyed talking to others, hence the name “Chatty” Cathy. Her ability to attract people and connect with just about anyone, served her well throughout her life.
 
Attending the University of Cincinnati and Tennessee State University, Cathy earned two bachelors’ degrees, one in medical records management. She went on to become a registered medical records administrator.  Designing and developing systems for documenting, storing, and retrieving health information was a rewarding challenge that she so happily accepted. Prior to graduation, Cathy became a member of a Greek-lettered sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. To her, wearing her pink and green sorority colors was considered a badge of honor; Cathy wore those colors proudly, and she wore those colors well. Cathy was a devoted AKA.
 
Cathy was predeceased by her father, Raymond Moss, Sr. and her husband, Oliver Prince Walker. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Sherry, Deborah, Anita, and Raymond Moss, Jr.
 
Cathy leaves her bright memories to be cherished by many family members: her loving and very devoted son, Gerrad Walker; her mother, Ernestine Moss; her sister, Andrea (Doug) Jemison; her uncle, Robert Johnson; her aunts, Murthene and Katherine Johnson; her nephew, Kelven (Lindsey) Moss; her nephew, Justin Jemison; her niece, Tayler (Trey) Henderson; a grand-niece and four grand-nephews; and a host of relatives, friends, sorority sisters, and colleagues.
