Carolyn Elaine Cardwell

Carolyn Elaine Cardwell was born March 12,1956 to Alvirta Johnson-Cardwell & Willie B. Caldwell in Hamilton, Ohio. She was the fourth child born to this union. She departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on April 16, 2022 at 12:17. 

She accepted Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Baptist Church under the late Dr. N. L . Townsel. She served on the usher board. She attended Hamilton City School graduating in 1974.

Carolyn was common law married to Donald Collins Sr. who preceded her in death.

Carolyn was a community worker who had a passion to help many. She served at the Open Door Panty for many years. Although she never birth any children of her own, she adopted many kids and grandchildren all who affectionally called her grandma.

She was preceded in death by both parents; 2 sisters, Latania and Wanda; a brother, Charles E. Cardwell and a niece, Elizabeth Cardwell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory; 5 sisters, Diana Smiley, Alfredis Cardwell, Cheryl Caldwell, Janice (Caldwell) Freeman all of Hamilton, Nicole (James) Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; 3 brothers, Steve Caldwell, Ramondo (Carla) Woods of Oklahoma City, OK and Steve Davis of Hamilton, OH; a special cousin, Karen Jordan; 2 God sisters Karmella Pilgrim and Tracy Hudson, special friend, Tina Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, great nieces, nephews and adopted grandkids.
