Brenda Jo Ware affectionately known as “BJ”, “Mom”, “Momma” and “Nana” departed this life surrounded by family and friends on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 69.  She was born May 22, 1954 to her devoted parents, Rodessa Autry and Rose Ware-Autry in Dayton, OH.  Brenda was a graduate of Roosevelt High School Class of 1973.

Brenda retired from Maria Joseph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Dayton, OH in 2018.  She was an exceptional worker, devoted to the call of nursing.  Brenda started her nursing career as a candy stripper at the early age of 15.  Her nurturing and caring spirit was infectious and will be missed by all whom she came in contact with.

Brenda enjoyed being with her family.  She was a natural caregiver, protector, provider,  and nurturer; a friend to the end, ride or die, never met a stranger and was adored by many.

Her hobbies included sewing, playing games with her grandchildren, reading, watching movies, her favorite being, “The Temptations”, cleaning while listening to her good ole music and let’s not forget, making her infamous mac and cheese.

Brenda was the true epitome of her family.  She could do almost anything she set her mind to.  When faced with adversities, she still rose and walked tall possessing resilience, beauty and compassion.  This is also a quality trait that she has left behind through her legacy , Latosha, Shamesha, Donte and thereafter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodessa and Rose Ware-Autry; three brothers, Oscar Sam Autry, Paul Camp and Tyrone Ware-Autry and five sisters, Darlene Ware, Jeri Coleman, Elnora Ware, Mary Camp-Lewis and Patricia Fountaine.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted children, Latosha Ware, Shamesha Ware and Donte’ (Jamie) Ware; grandchildren, Imani Brown, Caleb Johnson, Donte’ Jr. and Jonte’ Ware; two brothers, Timothy (Robin) Ware and Johnny (Martha) Camp; two sisters, Theresa Senu’oke and Melody Ware; honorary sisters, Gwendolyn Springer, Janice Jackson, Maria Jones, Tina Smith and Sheila Jerhijan and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Brenda Jo Ware will be dearly missed.
