Mrs. Bobbie Jean (Johnson) Harrison was born to the late Mitchell and Gertrude Johnson in Prentiss, MS, on September 10, 1937. Bobbie was the seventh of nine children. The family moved to Epps, LA when Bobbie was just an infant.
Bobbie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She loved school and learning. At the Parish Training School of East Carroll Parish, she was found to have a natural, high aptitude for understanding mathematics.
In 1955, Bobbie relocated to Cincinnati, OH. She completed her senior year at Lockland Wayne High School. During the graduation ceremony, Bobbie received her diploma and an engagement ring. Mr. Allen Harrison, Jr., affectionately known as DUNE, found his ‘good thing’ and after 5 months of courting, the two were wed at the Ebenezer 2nd Baptist church by the Pastor, Rev. Young Scott. Two children were born to this union. The Harrisons remained faithful members of 2nd Ebenezer.
Both Bobbie and Allen worked for Shillitos in downtown Cincinnati until Bobbie started a new path with the Keebler company in 1967. She worked there until retirement in 1998.
The couple shared a deep affinity for serving others, good gospel music and cooking. Bobbie was known for her macaroni and cheese as well as her homemade cakes. They also shared a lifetime of love and were married for 64 years until Allen’s passing in 2019.
Memories of Bobbie are left to forever be cherished by her children: Joseph Keith (Carmen) Harrison and Jacqueline Karen Harrison; 4 grandsons: Joseph, Ron’Sae, Jordan and Robert; 4 bonus spiritual children: Gregg, Ayiesha, Lee and Ray, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends.
