Beverly Menefee Obituary

Beverly Adella Menefee, age 71 after a valiant battle of illness, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was born in Dayton Ohio to the late Margie Menefee and Nathaniel Anderson. Beverly attended Patterson Co-Op high school majoring in Computer Science and graduated from Paul L Dunbar, class of 1968. Her career spans a number of dedicated roles with multiple companies; including registrar office with Sinclair and Wilberforce, insurance assistant with various major companies including State Farm, team lead and trainer at Time Warner Cable company, over 20 years of private healthcare service with Kettering In-Home Care, and the co-Founder of Personal Touch Home HealthCare of Dayton. At the time of her passing, she was most recently employed as the sole night scheduler for Fidelity HealthCare. Beverly was the “baby” of eight siblings. Being the youngest of the bunch, she was led and directed by her older siblings and maternal grandmother to gather coal out the coal bin, grab the clothes off the clothesline, set the empty glass bottles outside for the Milk Man, sew clothes for her older siblings amongst many other childhood duties. As she matured, Beverly was known as “Miss Social Butterfly”, ready for hosting house parties, an avid 2-step dancer and was THE LIFE of any party she attended. Beverly was a dedicated Mother to her three children. Additionally, she was the Go-To Family Caretaker. Regardless if the person was a child or an adult of her family OR of a family friend, she was dedicated to child rearing, proper upbringing and caretaking in general. Beverly’s favorite pastime besides being with her family, was decorating for the holidays, buying the latest digital gadgets, and showcasing her love of lights…….let’s not forget she’s always the brightest shining light! Beverly worked as a Heart Healer and motivational example; always willing to lend a hand, go the extramile, wonderful listener, guidance counselor at times, exhibiting an unyielding amount of patience and strength to her children, grandchildren, other family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, (3) brothers, John “Sonny”, Donald, and Ray Menefee, (2) sisters Sylvia and Delores Menefee and longtime partner Kevin Martin. Beverly leaves her footprints in the sand to her loving sons Damon V Smith SR and Marvin Smith JR, faithful and affectionate daughter Staci A Smith; (3) grandsons Sharod Bryant, Damon V Smith Jr, and Elijah Dunbar; (1) granddaughter Mari Smith; (1) great-granddaughter Imri George; devoted sister Marjorie Harris and brother James Menefee; noteworthy support in her last months nieces Shari (Jimmy) Mann, Jamila Menefee, and Knakia Austin, nephew Stan Harris, sister-in-law Elaine Allen, best friend Michelle Lemon and special friends Kim Dunbar, Tammy Vaughn and Jennifer Arnold with a host of other loving family members and friends.
