BETTE LOU McGILL MURRAY graced this world on Monday January 23,1933 in Lebanon Ohio to the union of Mack, Sr. and Allie Jones McGill. Her earthly voyage completed its course on Sunday November 15, 2020 in Dayton Ohio.

Educated in the Ohio Lebanon Public School System, Bette attended Lebanon High School, where she graduated, class of 1952. A talented athlete, she received multiple awards from the GAA ( Girl's Athletic Association).

Greatly influenced by her eldest sister, Rhoda, Bette began her Christian walk as a young girl at Bethel AME Church in Lebanon. She was active in Sunday School, the Youth Choir and Allen Christian Endeavor, a church serving youth organization. She continued on this path in her adult life as a dedicated member of Residence Park United Methodist Church for over 55 years.

On November 15,1960, Bette was united in marriage to her beloved, Donald Edmund Murray. They were to share nearly 59 years together before his passing in September of 2019. To this union were born their son Duane and daughters, Donna, Bettina and Annette.

Bette Lou's Love, Devotion and Faith to her family and friends will forever be her LEGACY. She was and will remain an example of a most beautiful woman. She was employed for 15 years as a clerk in the Registration Department at Sinclair Community College.

Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Murray; their son, Duane A. Murray; her parents, Mack and Allie; eight sisters, Rhoda, Helen, Irene, Minel, Celia, Ruth, Margaret, Anna and four brothers, Homer, Eugene, Robert and Alvin. She is cherished in memory by her daughters, Donna(Kenneth)Thrash, Bettina(Earl)Keith and Annette Murray; her grandchildren, Kamisha(Darius) Bennett; Brandon, Olivia and Anna Murray; Kenneth Jr., Jasmond and Amber Thrash; Earl Jr. and Marguerite Keith; Derrick Jr. and Edmund Parker; great-grandchildren, Ja'Lil; Nicholas, Anissa, Rayne, Sara Annette daughter-in-law, Lori Murray; lifelong best friend/niece Marjorie Day; niece, Lucille Smith; friends-in-faith for over 50 years, Francennia Kilgore, Walta Lark, Sheila Woolfolk and a host of other family members and friends.
