Avis Yvonne Whitlock-Harris

Avis Yvonne Whitlock-Harris was born to the late Curtis Sr. and Ann Bell Monie on March 15, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio. Avis was a graduate of Dunbar High School class of 1974. She held several jobs in her younger years in Dayton, Ohio. At young age Avis accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Avis later joined Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church as her place of worship. Avis enjoyed the company of her family and friends. Avis was known for throwing parties that her whole neighborhood block would attend. She was a giving woman and made sure those she cared about were taken care of. Avis knew no strangers!

Family members awaiting her arrival include her daughter Sua Whitlock; her dear brothers and sister Cubby, Carl, Clinton, Curtis Jr. Monie, and Patricia Colvin; and special cousins Theodore "Bae Bra" Withmore, Alva Favors and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The memory of Avis Whitlock-Harris will forever be cherished by her loving son Chaz "Tanky" Burney (Bridget); Stepsons Kevin Gay and Norman Gay-Harris. Her sisters Harriet Person and Angela Scearce; Her brother Cyrus Monie. Special nieces and nephews Shaniqua, Mahogany, and Jamauri Person, Damien Scearce and Nathan Epps. Special cousin Michelle "SheShe" Lee-Wright. A slew of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
