Aretha W. Johnson was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on February 20, 1938 to Jake and Smithie Lou Whitehead. Aretha parted this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
Aretha loved her church and church family. She was multitalented and a devoted member, holding titles that includedworship director, chaplain, corresponding secretary and an active member of Church Women United. Her church home was Saint Paul AME, Milford.
Aretha attended the University of Cincinnati earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 1972. She spent many years serving the public at the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. She will be sincerely missed by all who knew her.
Aretha leaves to cherish her memory her son: Keith Johnson; her daughters: Gail Whitehead (Michael Young), Jacqui Brown (Derek Brown), and Staci Johnson; her sister: Lenora Gray; her grandchildren: Amberlyn, Arielle, Alyssa, Tony, Trevin, Giana, Javis, and seven great-grandchildren. Her memory will also be cherished by numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
