Allen Doe Boyd (Henderson) was born February 1, 1963, in Dayton Ohio, to the late Allen Doe Henderson, Sr. and Jacqueline (Boyd) Scott. He was his mother’s first born and raised by the late Melvin L. Boyd, Sr. He was led to Christ under the leadership of his grandfather, Rev. Robert C. Dillard and Mother Dear taught him the power of prayer. He attended school in Los Angeles, CA, Dayton, OH, Detroit, MI and received his GED in Job Corp. In the summer of 1978, he got a job working at Firehouse #51 through Project S.E.E.K (Summer Employment Encourages Kids). After having his first child, Allen took the advice of his grandfather, Rev. Dillard and learned a trade at Job Corp to take care of his daughter, Kamesha. He was 17 years old working for the railroad
company, traveling from Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Texas. He came back home a year later and started a job at Wright-Patt.
Allen was inspired by his grandfather, Booker T. Boyd’s business accomplishments and owning Boyd’s Construction Company. He was aspired to become an entrepreneur after working for his uncle Ike, at Dillard’s Bros Pest Control. Uncle Ike mentored him and taught him how to navigate the streets after he noticed Allen was brilliant with numbers. Allen gained a lot of knowledge of the street life, while working with Wayne Arrington, shining shoes. His education and work experiences were purposeful tools used for his industry and influenced his wealth.
Allen was a special son, wonderful brother, a father, devoted uncle, loyal friend, and a mentor to many. He enjoyed training dogs, fast cars, cooking, golf and dressing up. He cherished learning how to defend himself in care of Danny, his uncles Ike, Rabbit, Johnny and Charlie Moon who taught him karate. Allen’s kindness, legal advice and support became his trademark. He was a superhero to his brother Melvin and his sister Valorie speaks of him daily.
Allen departed this life on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Grandview Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Henderson Sr., and his sister Allyn "Michelle" Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memory, His mother Jacqueline (Rick), the mothers of his children Rhonda and Kim, his lifelong friend Theresa (TC) Frank, sisters “Alisa, Valorie, and Saunya”; brothers Marcellus, Steven, Melvin, Richie, and Ricardo;
