Alfred Hill, Jr Obituary

Alfred (Alfie) Hill Jr. was born on October 28, 1971 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was the second child born to the late Alfred Hill Sr. and Thelma Babb.

Alfie attended grade school in the Mount Healthy School district.  At an early age, he developed a great love for football.  He was a star little league player for the K of C Knights and continued to be a football standout throughout middle school and high school.

Alfie attended Forest Park Middle School. He graduated from Forest Park High School in 1991 and was awarded a full athletic scholarship to attend Purdue University.  Alfie graduated from Purdue in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Upon graduation he continued his love for football in Atlanta, Georgia fulfilling his dream to try out for the National Football League, NFL.  Alfie was known for his love of football. Returning to his hometown of Cincinnati, Alfie  shared his love of football with all who knew him.   Alfie’s favorite college team was Purdue and he made it known to all that he was not a fan of Ohio State.  Everyone knew that when Purdue played Ohio State, the game was to be watched at Alfie and Iris’s house.

Alfie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as a young adult and began his Christian journey at Corinthian Baptist Church with his Aunt Florence and Uncle Al.

Alfie began his professional career in finance where he held several positions as an analyst and coordinator for over 20 years. Alfie was good with numbers and would always try to work and help people get the best deal.

When Alfie met Iris in the seventh grade, it was love at first sight for him. They dated for many years and on September 1, 2006 a wonderful event took place in Alfie’s life.  He married his high school sweetheart and lifelong friend, Iris McDonald. Alfie was a fun, loving and caring husband.  Together he and Iris touched many lives by sharing love, wisdom and the importance of family.

Alfie was an active and hardworking father, husband, son, brother, uncle and coach.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Alfie loved vacationing in Florida where he could relax on the beach and shop for gym shoes and watches.

Alfie loved coaching football and did so for over 22 years.  He was a great coach and mentor to many.  He shared his passion, principles and skills for the game with many kids and teens at Taft HS, Winton Woods HS, North Central Rams, the West Chester Outlaws and many others. Alfie inspired and motivated many young men by example to get an education and that the dream of playing college football and beyond is possible.

Alfie departed this life in peace with our Lord, surrounded by family on Friday, April 29, 2022.  He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Iris Hill; two beautiful children, Kennedy & Kayden Hill; mother, Thelma Babb of Cincinnati, OH; stepfather, Bruce Babb of Indianapolis, Indiana; one loving sister, Lydia Oliver of Atlanta, GA; three aunts, Florence (Alexander) Voner, Debra Tribble and Pamela (Anthony) Phillips all of Cincinnati, OH; one uncle, Michael Tribble of Cincinnati, OH; six sisters-in-laws, Juanita Brundige of Carson, CA, Patricia McDonald of Atlanta, GA, Nisey (Kelvin) Hearn of Columbus, GA, Valerie Gordon of Cincinnati, OH, Penny Young of Cincinnati, OH and Marsha (Michael) McDonald-Wheeler of Cincinnati, OH;  four brothers-in-laws; Tony Jackson of Cincinnati, OH, Ernest (Peggy) Jackson of Dubuque, IA, Roderick Jackson of Atlanta, GA and Donald (Yolanda) Gordon of Hebron, KY; six nephews, Brandon and Braelen Oliver of Atlanta, GA, Donald Gordon II of Cincinnati, OH, Mason and Brandon Wheeler of Cincinnati, OH and Dylon Gordon of Hebron, KY; eight nieces, Tamika, Donnishia and Dominique Gordon all of Cincinnati, OH, Tamya Frost and Mychael Wheeler of Cincinnati, OH, Stephanie Potts and Kyndal Hearn of Columbus, GA and Devyn Gordon of Hebron, KY; close friends, the Hayes, the Jordans and Kenny Pierce along with a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
