Alberta graduated from South High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1970. She then went to study Education at Bowling Green State University.
She met the love of her life Larry Lanell Holston, and they married March 30, 1974. After marrying, they became youth ministry directors at Israel Baptist Church where they were members. They led a teen group called Teens Unlimited in Christ where they taught them how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, how to study God’s Word, memorize it and how to apply it to their lives. This brought the children great excitement, giving them an opportunity to have new experiences with field trips around the United States learning to respect and love others. To many of the young girls, she was a second mother.
She enjoyed actively participating in the church community through bible studies and small groups for her personal spiritual growth. She was diligent in serving in the prayer warrior ministry where she communicated specific prayer requests to the warriors all the way up until the last 3 weeks of her life.
Alberta began her long work career with the Kroger Co. before moving to SOS (Southern Ohio) Steel where she was a secretary/receptionist for over 30 years before retiring. She came out of retirement to become the executive secretary at Cincinnati Mills Mall (the former Forest Fair Mall) for 10 years.
