Marie Rupert Obituary
Marie Ella Rupert was born February 12, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio. She was the fifth of six children born to the late Ophelia Bailey Rupert and Daniel Lee Rupert.
Lovingly known as "Auntee Ree" by all of her nieces and nephews, she was later known as "Auntee" by her great great nieces and nephews. Marie was educated in the Hamilton City School district. Marie accepted Christ at an early age and was a long time member of Second Baptist Church.
During her amazing life, Marie had numerous jobs throughout the city of Hamilton. During her early adult years, she worked at Bright O, Leshner's Textile and the Hamilton City Schools as a bus aid that assisted students with disabilities.
Not being satisfied with a high school diploma and a series of limited advancement employment opportunities in the 1970's, Marie returned to the classroom and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Shortly after receiving her degree, Marie was hired by the Butler County Auditor's Office. She worked faithfully there for nearly twenty years until her retirement.
Marie was opinionated, outspoken and gave out the abundance of her heart: a heart that was grounded in grace, goodness and God. She did not hesitate to help others who were in need, whether they were family or not. She was a living witness to the words penned in Acts 20:35, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Although she didn't have any biological children, she was "Mom in Chief." Together with her mother Ophelia, they reared Vonya, Leon and Anita from childhood until they became adults. Additionally, Auntee Ree assumed the role of extended mother to many of her nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Because she loved children, she was passionate and proactively stepped in to lend a loving and helping hand when needed. She believed in discipline and demanded respect from all of her nieces and nephews.
Marie peacefully departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 20, 2018 at Hawthorne Glen Senior Living in Middletown, Ohio with her family by her side. Marie is preceded in death by her parents Daniel Lee and Ophelia Bailey Rupert; sisters Beulah Rupert Bradbury, Bernadine Rupert Milton, Dolores Rupert Jones; brothers Merle Rupert and Allen Rupert.
Marie leaves to cherish her many memories: daughters Vonya Howard of Dayton, OH, Anita Howard of Columbus, OH; sons Leon Howard and Curtis Bradbury of Hamilton, OH; sister-in-law Geneva Rupert of Mason, OH; fifteen nieces and nephews, thirty three great nieces and nephews and many family and friends. Although our lives are saddened we will be forever thankful to the Lord of Auntee Ree, a benevolent lady who lived a beautiful life.
