Ronald Brown, Sr. Obituary

Ronald Michael Brown, Sr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 31, 1957 to the late James and Catherine (Snow) Brown. He became a believer in Christ early in life and prior to joining and being baptized at the Bethel Baptist Church of Hamilton. Ron loved God, his church and serving God's people. He served as a Deacon and custodian at Bethel; also sung in Bethel's Senior Choir and Male Chorus. His faith and trust in God were unshakeable. One of Ron’s favorite scriptures “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord..(Joshua 24:15)”.

Ron was educated in the New Orleans public school system. After graduating from Abramson Senior High School, he attended Southern University of New Orleans on a track scholarship. Later, he joined and proudly served in the United States Army for 21 years. After 13 years of active military duty, he "Sergeant Brown" served 8 years in the Ohio National Guard. He was also employed as a machine operator at Hamilton Tool and Smart Papers.

Ron loved sports especially bowling, playing cornhole and talking "smack". He loved to talk about his high school days at Abramson where he ran track and was known as the fastest runner in his neighborhood.  He was honored to assist with the training of a girl's track team at the BTW Community Center in Hamilton. Everyone who knew Ron, could tell you that his favorite food was chicken. Fried chicken was his preference but he enjoyed it not matter how it was prepared.

Ron was gifted with a talent of working with his hands. He could draw, paint, build and repair almost anything usually with no instructions. His tool collection was admired and used by many.

Ron had a heart for the elderly. He loved spending time with them and showering them with gifts on special occasions.

In 1993, Ron moved to Hamilton, Ohio where he met and married his "Deannie Brown". Their marriage united a close knitted family of eight children; Elder Nathon (Dana) Crawford, Naisha Brown, Ronald Brown, Jr., Derrick Gray, Donald (Sheryl) Ripley, Jr. , Darryl Ripley, Bradley (Myeisha) Hall and Raymond (Rachelle) Sims. He helped to raise grandchildren, Justen (Andice) Kemp and Dorian (Dori Jo) Gray (deceased). Ron had special and close relationships with his siblings; sisters: Ella Alexander (deceased) Sandra (Robert) Harris, Barbara (Jessie) James; brothers: Reverend Robert (Catherine) Brown, Asa Alridge (deceased), James Alridge (deceased); his father-in-law, Clifton Gray and mother-in-law, Minnie Gray.

Ron loved God, his family, his church and God's people. He leaves to forever cherish the wonderful memories of his life: his wife, children, sisters, brother, grandchildren: Skylar, Sharod, Ty'Jah, My'Jia, Isaiah, Nathon, Jr., Rashaun,  Zyion, Joycelyn, Brianna, Brielle, Charmaine, Kelsie, Shantelle, Donovan, Desmond, Malik, Yancey; great-grandchildren: Genesis, Gabrielle, Jaylen, Gavin, Kimaya, Giovanni, and Justice; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

On September 4, 2019, after a lengthy illness, God called Ron home to joined family members and friends in heaven who preceded him in death. One of his favorite songs which he lead in the senior choir was "I Am Free".

Ron impacted many lives (young and old) in a positive way. He was loved and respected for his moral character. He will truly be missed.
