Robert Michael McKarn, Jr., was born the youngest of three children on November 30, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert Sr. and Mary McKarn. Better known as Mikey or the Cat-in-the-Hat to his family and “Rob” to his friends, was a character who could make you laugh and smile with that dimple, smirk, charm and charisma he had.
Michael was a 1995 graduate of Mifflin High School, where he played football and baseball. He also attended the University of Cincinnati. He was an avid fisherman, barber, sports enthusiast (Go Bucks!), grill master and culinary artist, whose skills were unrivaled (leaving many a kitchen laying in waste!). Yours may have been one! He also loved attending church and his favorite scripture is Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s prayer).
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary E. McKarn, maternal grandmother Doris White, paternal grandparents, Robert and Earlene McKarn.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Robert M. McKarn, Sr., of Columbus, OH, one daughter, Imani G. Harris, and one son Atlantis M. McKarn both of Columbus, OH; two sisters Melody (Daniel) Kay, of Franklin, OH, and Michelle A. McKarn, of Chicago, Illinois, maternal grandfather William Jackson, Sr., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend Angela B. Wisecup.
